No way to recover documents from the trash

No way to recover documents from the trash

I don't see any way to recover documents moved to the trash. In the old writer, I used to be able to easily recover trashed documents and even go in the trash and permanently delete them. In the new writer, I see no such ability. Looks like once you move it to the trash, it's gone. If I choose "open" and click on "folders" there is no trash folder. There is no link to a trash folder anywhere.   The FAQs on the writer is out of date too! Those menu options don't even apply anymore.

Is something wrong with my account or is the new writer really missing the ability to recover documents from the trash?
