Problem Using with AWS

Hi,
I have my domain setup with google domains and have been successfully using it with Zoho mail.

Recently we added a static website to AWS-S3 and modified the default name servers in Google Domains to forward to AWS route 53. I thought this would only effect web traffic and not email traffic. However, this broke my email service. Now I have switched back to default google name server and my email is fixed but web site is not accesible.

Can you help me figure this out. How do folks balance their domain registration with website hosting and email forwarding.
