Project Templates In Zoho Projects

Project Templates In Zoho Projects

Set up a default work space and save your time and effort in managing your projects effectively, like never before. In Zoho Projects, you can structure a template and define it to your projects in the portal using an exclusive feature called the Project Templates . It lets users create "n" number of projects with the same template, which in turn helps them to carry out project activities dexterously.

For example, you own 20 projects in your portal. You will likely be comfortable to have a similar project flow (i.e. structure) for all the projects to manage and run the process effectively. In this case, using a project template can save your time and effort in managing the progress of your project unruffled.

Will I be able to edit or remove the existing project templates?

Yes. You can either edit or delete the project template according to your business needs. For this, you need to click Projects and select Project Templates . Select the required project template and click Other Actions to edit or delete.

How will I modify the project modules for existing project templates?

Project start date plays an important role in modifying the date and duration for your project modules in your project template. Just ensure that you choose to start your modules after your project start date.

For example: If your project's start date is 06/07/2016 [MM/DD/YYYY], then you can specify the Start After date for your task after few days, months, weeks or hours after your project start date.

You can also create tasklist and task template and copy it to other project's task and tasklists section for making the process even more efficient. I will brief you on Task Templates in my next post.

Start creating your project templates and make your project progress easier than ever.

See you around friends!

      • Tip: How to print the Gantt View

Though we move from the traditional project management system (using papers) to an online project management system, we still prefer to have a printed copy of the activities/tasks that are to be done in the project. This way, we can carry the to-do lists with us for the meetings and refer when we are offline. The print option, available at the right side of the page, allows the users to print the project information across all the modules. However, this option failed to print all the tasks & milestones

      • Task Inline Editing Enhancement

Hi All, Today, we have made an enhancement in task inline editing. In 4.0, task edit is moved in a single screen in a pop-up. We designed this in-order to make the task edit across the product to be the same. Let it be in Feeds, Tasks & My Tasks tab, Calendar & My Calendar tab, a click on the task title will open the popup and user can edit the values. Customers pointed us the inline editing was very useful to them & how much they miss that in 4.0. Based on the feedback, we have rolled out this enhancement.
