Question/Request: Can you set a max. stock limit to be maintained in an integrated sales channel (Etsy?)

Thank you for your help and advice. I would like to know if there is a capacity to Zoho Inventory to deal with the following situation:
I have a listing on Etsy that I would like maintained at a certain threshold - for example 20 units, even though I may have 100 units in my warehouse. In an ideal situation, when 1 unit is purchased by a customer, I would like the system to update my warehouse stock to 99 units, and sync to maintain the 20 unit threshold on Etsy. Is this a function that is currently possible?
I am aware that there is the ability to disable the 'automatic stock sync' of a sales channel. The FAQ states that:
"If you disable this automatic sync, then the stock changes in Zoho Inventory will no longer trigger a stock update to your sales channels. This is indicated by the Inactive status."
That I understand. What I would also like clarification on is this: if I disable the automatic stock sync, will this stop two-way communication between Zoho and Etsy, or still maintain a one-way communication? In other words, if I disable this automatic sync, will a stock change in the sales channel (through a customer's purchase) still trigger a stock update in Zoho Inventory?
