Real-Time Open Positions

Real-Time Open Positions

We are a large family owned trucking company and we are the parent company for 5 different truck lines covering all 48 states and Canada. We opperate about 75 different "Locations" or terminals that our recruiting department, based in 4 different locations throughout the US and comprised of over 20 recruiters, staff as driver need/turnover and available freight dictates.

Here is the problem...
If a driver in say Jacksonville, FL quites, it creates an open position. Currently, open positions are communicated via spreadsheet that is sent to all the recruiters indicating all positions in which we have to staff. Sometimes there are multiple openings in a location, or sometimes there are 10 recruiters trying to fill the 1 open position in Jacksonville. It becomes a 1st come first served issue, but since we are working off of a spreadsheet that has been sent to muptiple people, we ten have to run about 3-5 reports or check other spreadsheets, to see if the position was already filled by the time we tried to fill it. It can get very confusing, and we end up sometimes hiring to drivers for 1 position, only to have to tell a driver that there is now not an opening.

We are wanting something we cand evelop that will allow our recruiters to log into our website, or our intranet, and be able to see what positions are available. If a driver is DQ'd or takes nother job, we need to realtime reflect that the position is now up for grabs to be filled without hving to run a few reports ndhoping there is availability. I'm sure I am making this more difficult that it really is, but transportation in general has always been behind the times when it comes to development of software and web based applications and i am familiar with you guys and your ability to be straight forward and simple to use to perform complex tasks.
