Report access on portal for page only, not sub-menu

Is it possible to give access on the portal to a report on a page only (dashboard) and not in the sub menus ?

Having the sub-menu is redundent and useless for me, and it might confuse my customers.

I triied many things on the portal permission setup, but cannot get rid of the sub menu without lossing access to the report on the page.
