Datavisualisatie is een belangrijke functie bij analytics. U zou datavisualisatie kunnen beschrijven als het proces waarin gegevens worden omgezet in waardevolle inzichten. Wat betekent dit voor bedrijven? Allereerste wordt het makkelijker om trends, patronen en afwijkingen (vroegtijdig) te ontdekken. Doordat complexe datasets inzichtelijker worden, moedigt dit de kwaliteitsvolle besluitvorming binnen organisaties ook (verder) aan.

In deze blog gaan we dieper in op hoe gegevens het ondernemen van acties kunnen stimuleren door best practices te delen voor het maken van overtuigende datavisualisaties met behulp van moderne BI-mogelijkheden.

Om indrukwekkende datavisualisaties te maken, is het belangrijk om een balans te vinden tussen vorm en functie. Hier zijn vier best practices die je helpen deze balans te vinden:

1. Ken je publiek

Om datavisualisaties zeer effectief in te kunnen zetten, is het belangrijk dat ze emotioneel en intellectueel resoneren met het doelpubliek. Daarom is het cruciaal om je publiek te begrijpen. De bedrijfsrollen van gebruikers en hun rolspecifieke behoeften en uitdagingen bepalen de waarheidsgetrouwheid en diepgang van inzichten die voor hen relevant zijn. Moderne BI-platforms stellen dit in staat door middel van collaboratieve analyses die actuele gebruikersspecifieke inzichten leveren. BI-platforms bieden ook toegankelijkheidsopties, zoals contrasterende kleuren en patronen, om te voldoen aan de specifieke behoeften van het publiek. 2. Verwerken van verschillende gegevensformaten

3. Interactiviteit inbouwen

Interactieve mogelijkheden in datavisualisatie stellen gebruikers in staat om meer inzichten in realtime te ontdekken, waardoor ad-hocanalyses eenvoudiger worden. Functies zoals drill-down, filteren en sorteren verbeteren de gebruikerservaring en besparen tijd bij het maken van nieuwe rapporten.
