Setting Up Zoho Inventory

Hello Zoho community ,


I recently started working with Zoho Inventory. am currently having trouble setting things up. I am hoping that someone can provide some clarifcation on the operations of this app.

Zoho Inventory 

When my company order supplies from manufacturers for example crutches. They come in a box of 4 , and each item has a unqiue serial number. The four items share the same SKU , my question is how do we go about entering each serial and keeping track of that specfic item rather than the SKU.

 We need to have that information in the event of a recall and for other item accounting purposes. It seems       like the system only allows us to keep track of the SKU.

Secondly , if an item has been sold already how do we set it up in zoho that the item is automatically marked as inactive or sold.
