Establish an online publicly-populated database website for sports competition where information for competitors, events and matches can be stored as well as used to calculate result-based rankings. Anyone can register a unique access login/password and contribute information. Different levels of administration/accessibility can be assigned to different types of users. All information entered by public users goes into a “holding tank” where administrators can proof read, then release the info into the database. Possibly have information additions/updates/changes tied to a specific user, in the same type of way that WikiPedia has a tracked history of users who made changes. All users governed by IP address and or some type of unique identifier that allows for vandals to be banned. Much of the information is presented as links to other pages of the database structure. Possibly have certain fields/pages tie into discussion forum threads. Search function that allows users to quickly find competitors, events or matches. Filters/queries that allow for competitors within specified criteria to be ranked together.
