Company events have become one of the most popular and useful tools for team-building, networking, and more, so many organizations host multiple events throughout the year. With Backstage, you can keep a central calendar with all your organization's events and share them in different channels to extend their reach and keep your audience up to date on all the events you have in store.
Customizing the calendar
In Backstage, your central calendar is available in the Branding tab of your portal's Settings page. When creating an event, you can easily customize the color and layout to align with your event's theme.
You can also add calendar filters to highlight selected events or allow your audience to search for events by name. For example, Zylker Inc. conducts a series of events throughout the year for artists and creators interested in entrepreneurship called Zylker Create:53. You can create a filter with the series name, "Create:53," to display only events in that series, or filter your events to keep separate calendars for private and public events.
Before publishing, you can preview the calendar by clicking the Actual Size button.
Embedding the calendar
Give your audience a peek into everything you offer by adding the calendar to your website. Embed it in the microsite of your event to show your audience all the other interesting events you have planned. To do this, add the Embed Widget custom section to your microsite and paste the embed code there.
You can also include your calendar in other channels like your websites, blogs, and influencer pages to increase your reach and event attendance.
Adding multiple calendars
Sometimes, just one calendar won't cover all of your requirements. You might need a mini-calendar for the sidebar on your website, a different style of calendar for your blog, or several calendars with a variety of filters. In Backstage, you can generate multiple iframe codes with different filters or themes and add them to various platforms or channels.
For instance, Zylker conducts a variety of events every year, the most important of them being the Create:53 series. They host a calendar with only Create:53 events on the home page of the Zylker Create:53 microsite and keep a separate calendar on the microsite with all the other events that Zylker conducts yearly.
Viewing the calendar
Once your calendar is live, viewers can use it to search for events using the event's name and venue, go to the event's site, and add a reminder to their own calendars. Your calendar is updated with the latest events automatically, so you can save time and focus on other things.
