The purpose of every presentation is to inform, educate, inspire, and persuade the audience. The key to achieving it is by presenting your slides effectively. You can either present your slides in person, remotely, or even publish them online.
Hello all! The feature in the spotlight for this month is publishing.
With Show, you can publish your presentations internally or externally. In this post, we'll take a look at different publishing options.
TWO TYPES OF PUBLISHING
Within the organization:
When you want your presentations to be accessed by your co-workers and members across different departments and business functions, you can publish them within your organization. This will not be accessible to anyone who is not a part of your company. Some common examples include your company's sales revenue and project roadmap deck.
To the external world:
Presentations that you publish externally can be accessed by anyone who has the link to the presentation. These can also be shared on social media, blogs, and webpages. About the organization and investor pitch decks are examples of presentations that are often published externally.
PUBLISH YOUR PRESENTATIONS:
To get started, click on the share button in the top right corner of your presentation. Then select publish. This will open a pop-up, asking if you want to publish the presentation within the organization or to the external world. Choose the appropriate option, then you will be able to view the additional publishing options.
Here are some customization options.
View Type:
Changing the view type changes the way the presentation will be displayed to the viewer. For example, you will be able to view a single slide at a time in the Bold view type, while you'll be able to view all the slides in Tile view type.
Publish link:
You will be able to share the published presentation by copying and pasting the link and sending it across your communication channels. If the presentation is published externally, you can directly share it on platforms like Facebook, X, and LinkedIn. You can also email your presentations directly from the Show interface.
Embedding your published presentations:
Embedding presentations in your blogs or webpages is a smart way to provide information to your visitors in an engaging way. You can do this by copying the embed code and pasting it in your webpage or blog.
Here are some customization options you can set before copying the embed code.
- Basic customization: You can change the size, set the background and border color of your presentation to make it consistent with the theme you've followed in your webpage or blog. Plus, you can also hide or display the tool bar and the right-click menu.
- Preloading presentations: If you choose Preload the embedded file, the presentation gets loaded as soon as the page is opened. Similarly, you can also select Start presentations as soon as the iframe loads, which not only starts the presentation but also moves to consecutive slides after a certain period of time.
Advanced options:
These include looping the slideshow, sharing options (to help you enable sharing and downloads) and toolbar options (translation, hide profile picture or name, and show or hide explanation).
