The ideal functionality would be:

1. **Time-Based Trigger:** The ability to set a start and end date for the promotion, during which the free item would be automatically added to estimates.

2. **Item Selection:** The option to choose the specific item to be offered for free.

3. **Customer Limitation:** A mechanism to ensure that a customer receives the free item only once during the promotional period, even if they create multiple estimates.

This custom function would greatly streamline my workflow and enhance the customer experience by providing a seamless way to offer promotional items.
