I'm having trouble using the Taxable non taxable feature. Mainly because in the US Tax is set by region, not by product.
The way im trying to add Tax is by using the the Tax field in the Sub Total Section. I do this because the Tax should be applied to all products in the sales order, except the non- taxable items.
What I'm finding is that I'm supposed to add the tax individually to each product, (which the system is actually not allowing me to do saying "There is no Tax Associated with this Product" even though I marked it as taxable)
Even if this worked, it would be time consuming to add tax to each item.
What I thought it would work, is to add tax on the order level, then it should apply only to "Taxable" products but no, it adds to all products.
Very strange and irritating .... I've been trying to solve this for a few years now, and what I have to do is manually calculate my tax ommiting non taxable items and enter it on the Adjustment portion.
I then have to add a note stating that the adjustment represents Sales Tax .... not very smooth and confusing to customers. Am I doing things in a wrong way?
Also, it seems that this process will become a roadblock while trying to integrate inventory, as CRM Modules don't sync or integrate with books or Inventory. Trying to go back from CRM transaction modules, to Books or Inventory seems impossible as Books and Inventory don't allow the same module customization, (2 columns, or rearrange the order of your custom fields) Any body else feels infuriated by this? how is one supposed to expand the use of the CRM into other applications if they don't offer the same customization we are used to? integrating our process with Zoho one applications seems impossible to adopt. Any ideas or suggestions?
