The sorry state of Zoho Sites

The sorry state of Zoho Sites

Zoho,

My site has been set up i like how everything looks and I gave you guys high praise for that.

However, most times, i am extremely disappinted.  Today is no different, I am disappointed.....YET AGAIN, on the simplest, easiest, most common sense things that are literally universal (for every user) that Zoho misses.

I just needed to post a blog....and because of such misses rampant, it took an inordinate amount of time for a post that's been written already. And let me tell you, i write very slowly.

There were SOOOO MANY THINGS  that could've been made easier for millions of your users just by correcting the SIMPLEST OF THINGS. It is EXCRUCIATING TO SEE THESE AND WONDER WHERE THE COMMON SENSE IS FOR ANY AND ALL MEMBERS OF ZOHO SITES THAT ARE INVOLVED IN THE DEVELOPMENT, QUALITY ASSURANCE AND TESTING PROCESSES.

Here are the things I saw, that if your team was apply COMMON FREAKING SENSE, wouldn't be a problem:

The blog post template: There was a post title (on which the post url is derived) and a body title. By body title, I mean a blog post title that's part of the actual blog. For most content writers these will be exactly the same. When the post title and body title are filled out (as zoho has it set up), when a reader opens the blog post, they will see 2 titles that are exactly the same. So your template not only gives the user (content writer) double work in either posting title twice or deleting post title (for every blog post) and also seemingly endeavors to make the website owner or the business look STUPID and unprofessional, if ever both were filled out and published.

Members of zoho team, when you read a newspaper, DOES IT TYPICALLY HAVE TWO TITLES THAT ARE EXACTLY THE SAME??? So WTF will you have a template that duplicates post title. WHERE IS YOUR THINKING????? Seriously!!!  You need to change this template and remove that ANNOYING body tile.

2. I go to autopost my blog. First I published the blog bf remembering i need to actually post it on social media.  Then of course I hadn't set up the autopost yet (bc I was frustrated that there was only 2 autopost platforms). I set up the platforms. Then, typical of the Zoho lack of common sense MO, I thought, my recently published post probably didn't post. And I was right. it didn't. This is a blog I published minutes before the setting up the autopost. Then I had to create another post of the same exact post (in hope) and to see if it would autopost. AND IT DIDN'T.

ZOHO WTF!!! You don't have enough sense to include a feature that asks if recently published posts should be autoposted????? You also don't have enough sense to make sure that the autopost actually works on the easiest way possible for your users?????? Geez, Zoho. This is incredibly pathetic.  You mean to tell me, I, the user should be troubleshooting the connection between facebook and Zoho sites???

Maybe it's because you all think these features are a matter of convenience. The truth is they are not. These are VERY basic to the greater features you already offer. I mean, what's the use of a social autopost that doesn't actual post..........?

3rd. I changed my business name.  I updated all my contact info, account names, organization names on all my zoho apps to the new name. I also keep a look out for when I see the old name to correct it bc I clearly don't have a complete grasp of where all the business names are pulling from.

Today was such day when I saw the wrong name.  this is my first blog post since the name change.  i go to change the name, only to find out I DON'T HAVE CONTROL ON THE BLOG AUTHOR NAME. ZOHO DOES. And once it's set, it can't be changed.

OMGGGGGGGGG ZOHO. You are telling me a website owner can't control which name shows on their own website???  Were your people high when they made this software??  This is a simple fix that should've been corrected in engineering and development.  This is a simple fix that should've been caught by your moderators.

How many engineers saw this and didn't fix it?? How many developers saw it? how many product testers saw it?  How many of Zoho product mangers saw this?? How many moderators saw this? How many users have complained about this?

I understand there will always be stuff to correct and update, but some things are way more important than others, and somethings never should've been wrong in the first place and need to be prioritized just for that no matter how small.

You create a way for site owners to change author names.
