Time Tracking in Zoho Projects

Time Tracking in Zoho Projects

Time tracking is one of the important aspects of project management. In Zoho Projects, you can schedule tasks and restrict work hours by enabling the Time Log Period Settings and Time Log Restrictions. Here are some of the timesheet settings in Zoho Projects which will help you keep track of the number of hours spent on a task or an issue.

Restrict time log:
In Zoho Projects, you can restrict users from logging time on weekends, and holidays. If your portal is integrated with Zoho People, you can also restrict time log on leave days.

For instance, consider a scenario where a task is allotted 7 days. If the admin has set restrictions on working on the weekends, the employee cannot spend more than 5 days on that particular task. The remaining two days will be carried over to the next week.

Time Log Period Settings:
The timesheets can also be configured to either allow or restrict time logs for past and future dat es.

Consider a scenario where the employee is allowed to log time for all past days while restricting entries to only two weeks in the future. If the employee start s working on a task on 09/01/2022 and takes more than two weeks to complete the task, he can add time log entries only until 09/15/2022 in the future. Log Hour Limit:
With the Restrict time log setting , you can set daily and weekly log hour limits. You can restrict users from entering more than the permissible limit.

For instance, consider a scenario where the log hours allotted for a day is 8 hours. If the admins has enabled this limit, the employee will not be able to spend more than 8 hours in a day on all the tasks allotted . T he limits are restricted to 24 hours per day and 168 hours per week by default based on business hours . Click here to learn more about Time Log Limit.
