Timesheet Enhancements

Timesheet Enhancements

Control who can log time for tasks and issues

Users are now allowed to log time for the tasks or issues that are not owned by them, based on the Task and Timesheet settings.

The owner of the task or issue, is allowed to log working hours by default. The user can configure the timesheet settings to allow the non owners of the task or issue to log working hours, as highlighted in the screenshot.

Helen is working on a task owned by her. She submits her task to Monica for review. In this case, Monica, although not the owner of the task, spends some time assisting Helen. Therefore, Monica requires to log hours spent on reviewing Helen's task.

With this timesheet configuration, the user profiles with "View All" permission to the tasks or issues will be able to start the timer and log timesheet for the tasks or issues not owned by them.

Note: The global timer will only show the tasks or issues that are owned by the respective users.

Restrict logging timesheet for weekends, holidays, and leaves

Users can now restrict logging the timesheet for weekends, holidays and leaves.

For instance, Helen, by mistake, has logged time on a holiday. It goes unnoticed by her manager while approving the timesheet. At the end of the month, an inappropriate invoice is generated for Helen.

With timesheet restriction, the project managers can ensure that users cannot log time for weekends or holidays or leaves. Also, this enhancement eliminates the manual effort required to verify the same.

Note: Leave can be enabled only if you have integrated with Zoho People.

Start and End time enabled for Weekly time logs

Users can log the weekly work hours by entering the start and end time for the tasks or issues.

Monica, the project manager, wants to analyze the time taken for each task or issue. This introspection helps her to estimate and allocate appropriate time for the upcoming tasks or issues. Helen works on multiple tasks each day. She logs the start and end time for each task or issue. This helps Monica to introspect the exact time taken by Helen for each task and issue.
