Tip #23: Task Custom View in Zoho Projects
As part of our tips and tricks series on using Zoho Projects, we are back with a tip for this week on task custom view.
Perspective is everything! It’s all about what you see and the way you want it to be. We’ve rolled out our new feature that helps you tailor your view with defined conditions. Task custom view is an option with which you can create your own view and scrutinize it with various criteria. Custom views can be advantageous to sort what you see, making it easier to find the most relevant tasks.
For example, you own a construction company and a client demands you to finish the flooring process of his house as soon as possible. You will need to follow-up tasks that are relevant to flooring and finish it right away. You can create a custom view that displays the important tasks you need to follow-up.
Learn more on how to create custom views.
- To create a custom view for this scenario, you can set criteria based on task names related to flooring.
- Additionally, with the AND operator you can add more criteria. This way, the tasks that meet all your criteria will come under the custom view.
- You can also make use of OR operator to satisfy an either-or condition.
- After setting criteria, you can edit the criteria pattern by rearranging brackets for certain conditions, change the operator from AND to OR or vice versa, swap criterion numbers in the same pattern and update changes. Make sure you properly close the open brackets.
- You can even decide who can see your custom view by setting accessibility. Only the portal owner, admin, and manager can set the accessibility details.
- You can also track your work progress with the task reports based on your custom view. Learn more on how to generate custom view based reports.
P.S: You can set up to a maximum of 20 criteria in a custom view. Custom views cannot be set in project templates.
