Tip of the week 25 - What templates to go with during the holiday season

Holiday season is always a good time to do business. Deloitte, in its annual holiday economic forecast has predicted that the total retail sales this holiday season will increase 5 –5.6 percent, with online sales to rise 17–22 percent.

This is great news. These statistics will only encourage us marketers to ideate better for creative email campaigns that will attract more traffic to the site. Designing the right email is important and email templates does make life simpler for us. Again, there are some pointers we must keep in mind while choosing one.

First things first, keep it simple. Nobody enjoys jarring images or text-heavy emails. People are in a mood to celebrate and will not go through long emails. While choosing a template, make sure it is easy on the eyes and doesn't take much time of your subscriber. Zoho Campaigns has a list of holiday templates that you can choose from to suit your taste.

Opt for designs that compliment your brand. While choosing a template, go with hues that work well with the sensibilities of your brand. Always go with the theme of the season. A bit of red will work well with the Christmas mail.

It's also a perfect time to sell your product. Don't just inform your subscribers about the promotions but also focus on your products also. While you promote your Black Friday sale, show them what they can buy.

Vipasha

      • Tip of the week 15 - Add subscription-preferences option. Drive more engagement.

If crafting content for emails, getting creatives done, and running email campaigns is your love, then unsubscribes are the heartbreakers.  You can save your emails from being unsubscribed/trashed by adding a proper subscription-preferences option in your emails (works best at the time of signup). Giving subscribers the option to choose what they want to receive from you and decide how often (frequency of the emails) your emails should hit their inboxes will increase the reach of your campaigns manifolds.
