Tip of the Week - Data Backup

If at any point in time, you wish to make a local copy of your data from a Zoho Analytics Workspace, you can do the same using the Backup option.

Zoho Analytics assures you that your data is safe and secure at our end. In order to avoid any failures at any level on the internal network, Zoho Analytics runs on redundant network devices. From our end, user data is backed-up periodically across multiple servers, helping to protect the data in the event of hardware failure or disaster. This Backup feature is recommended to be used only if you want to have an archive of your data locally with you.

To take a backup of your data from a workspace in Zoho Analytics:

  1. Log into your Zoho Analytics account and click the Settings icon at the top-right corner.

  2. Click the Backup tab. The Manage Backup page opens listing all the workspaces available in your account.

  3. Click the Not Scheduled link inline with the workspace name for which you wish to schedule the backup.
  4. The Backup Settings dialog opens. From here, you can schedule your backup in the intervals of every day, once a week, or once a month.

  5. After making the required selection, click Save.

You can disable the schedule anytime by clicking the Disable Schedule link in the Backup Settings dialog.

Once the sync schedule is completed, the backup file will be available as a downloadable link in the Download Backup column. The below screenshot shows the file structure in Zoho Analytics and the downloaded file. As you can see, only the data from tables and SQL queries from query tables will be backed up.

The reports and dashboards will not be backed up.
