Tips and Tricks #41: Pick and upload images on the slide in multiple ways using Show

Welcome back!

As you all probably know, images help us enhance the visual appeal of presentations and add both informational and aesthetic value to our slides. Using relevant images on your slide can support your content and communicate ideas effectively. This also helps the audience stay engaged with your slide deck and focus on what you have to say.

Note: In most cases, it's best to use one image per slide so the presentation looks neat and you can convey your ideas one at a time.

It is also important to use realistic images in a presentation to make it look professional and give your audience a good impression of your business propositions.

Show offers multiple ways to help you insert images in your presentation and find them within the tool itself.

Insert appropriate images to boost your brand identity

You can use the My Library option when you want to upload specific images like your company logo or icon from your system storage. The Upload to Library option or Add Image button will allow you to upload images stored on your device into this My Library section. You can also search for an image in the search field and add them to your slide using the Plus icon.

You can further filter images in My Library based on your preference and frequency of usage. Click the Work Drive folder icon in the top-right corner of this section to upload images from your team folder.

Add a specific image to illustrate a concept

You can copy image URLs and paste them into the URL field under Image when you want to add a specific picture from online. Let’s say you want to include a product image from your official website in the slide. In such cases, you can open that image in a new tab, then copy and paste its link in this section. You will be able to see a preview of the image and once you click the Plus icon, the image will load on the slide.

Include online images of different proportions

Let’s say you want to include a small image or icon at the center of the slide and surround it with relevant pictures of different dimensions to represent a process cycle.

Using the Google search option, you can search for an image with keywords. The search engine will load images in different sizes.  Based on your requirement, you can select an image of a particular size and once you click the Plus icon, the image will load on the slide.

Tip: Avoid stretching an image once it is added to the slide to maintain its resolution and clarity.

Note: By default, the Google search option will load results based on your presentation title.

Insert royalty-free images or trending gifs to add creativity to your slide

Need high quality stock photos but don't want to pay extra fees? Show has integrated with Unsplash to help you access royalty-free pictures taken by best photographers around the world. You can now insert beautiful images directly into Show with just a single click. This helps you save time looking for free classic images elsewhere, downloading, and then uploading them.

To insert Unsplash images in Show:
  1. Open the required slide and click Addon Store option under AddOns.
  2. Install the Unsplash Images Extensions for Zoho Show and then click Allow to access quality pictures from within Show.
  3. Search for the required picture and then click the Plus icon on top of the visual to insert it into the slide.

Additionally, Show has integrated with Giphy to help you add GIFs to your slides. You can use these visuals when you want to emphasize or add humor to your content. These animations also prove useful in conveying emotions to the audience.
