Tips and Tricks #12: Use your Android phone or tablet as a remote control

Hello everyone!

We're back again with Zoho Show's tip of the week.
Today we expect our smartphones to be able to do almost anything. If you speak at conferences or present information at meetings, you can often use your smartphone to enhance the presentation or even, in some cases, use them to run the slideshow in place of a laptop.

With the Zoho Show app, you can connect your Android phone or tablet to  the presentation screen using a casting device and use your mobile device as a remote. The Show app makes it easy to move from slide to slide, view presenter notes, and access highlighter tools to draw focus to important points on screen.

Here's how to use your Android phone/tablet as a remote control:
Choose a presentation in the Zoho Show app for Android you want to show on the connected screen, and use the Remote View of your phone screen as follows:
  • Move between slides: Swipe left to navigate to the next slide, and swipe right to go back to the previous slide.

  • View presenter notes: Tap the Notes  icon in the top-right corner to view your presenter notes for that slide. Presenter notes help you keep track of key speaking points during your delivery, and will only appear on your device, so your audience can't see them.

  • Highlight slide areas: Long press on the slide to do any of the following:
    1. Draw with a pen: Tap on the Pen  icon, then draw with your finger to highlight an area on the slide.

    2. Erase the highlight: Tap the Eraser  icon to undo all your highlights. Continue tapping to undo all your drawing on the slide.

  • Exit a slideshow: Tap the Close  icon on your Android device to stop presenting on the screen at any time during the slideshow.

We hope you found these tips useful. If you have any questions, feel free to ask in the comments below.
