Updated 'Roles and Privileges' in Zoho Campaigns

Updated 'Roles and Privileges' in Zoho Campaigns

Here's some good news!

We're excited to announce the updated Roles and Privileges—the permission-based user settings, in your very own Zoho Campaigns account. By far, we've catered to different organizations, each with eclectic teams, and we've understood the importance of providing a flexible access to accounts. This all-new feature will help each user of a team handle the same Zoho Campaigns account in a way that's relevant for them.

Okay! So what can the updated 'Roles and Privileges' do for you?

Suppose you belong to a five-membered team, comprising of a coder, designer, tester, support expert, and yourself, the marketer. A marketer may have to garner list information, upload mailing lists, curate content for an email, and send/schedule the emails accordingly. So broadly, you as a marketer, need to have access to almost all the tabs of Zoho Campaigns. The designer, on the other hand, helps you in coming up with visually-attractive templates and layouts for your campaigns. For such a person who spends most their time in designing, access to only design-related areas of the product would suffice.

This is where 'Roles and Privileges' can be deployed. Set  permissions for your team members and get your work done with ease. In precise, customize your product experience, your way!

Well, what happens to my current Campaigns account setup?

There will be absolutely no change in your existing account information. In order to make things easy for you, we've migrated your entire setup to the updated version so that you don't have the fear of missing any data.

If you're an existing Campaigns user (both free and paid accounts), what you've seen so long is a simple admin-user based privilege section that helps users control the account based on just two roles—the admin and the user.

What you'll be seeing henceforth is a new role and privilege section that gives you four roles:

  • Admin: All the current admins in your existing Campaigns account will automatically fall under 'Admin' role of the new section.
  • User: All the current users of your Campaigns account will be migrated to the 'User' role of the new section.

Apart from these two basic roles, we also have Standard Admin and Standard User roles.

  • Standard Admin: Any person who gets an admin control after the migration process will be listed under 'Standard Admin' role.
  • Standard User: Any person who gets assigned as a user after the migration process will be listed under 'Standard User' role.

For  Paid account users , there's an  exclusive option to assign  custom roles . Based on your team size and functionalities of your account users, you can create customized role names and assign specific control actions. Taking the example discussed earlier, you can create a separate custom role named  'Designer' and give relevant privileges to them.

Summing up, here are the benefits of the new Roles and Privileges:

The biggest and the most important benefit is that your account information can be safe and is prohibited from mishandling. With the new update, you can monitor who handles what in your account. Some of the other benefits:

-> One account with multiple permission-based access controls.

-> Custom roles for specific users with specific work needs. (Only for paid accounts!)
