I can't tell if I am missing something here...

I have an NPS question on my survey and I would like to save the reponse to the linked CRM (I already have linked fields linked and working) However, surveys can only be sent at contact or lead level and the NPS score is determinded as a calculation of values recieved at the customer level. 

So how do I save the customer NPS score from the survey ?
