August has been a good month for us at Backstage. Like usual, we squashed some bugs, tinkered with the code to improve app performance, and introduced new features and enhancements.
Here's a quick rundown of all that's happened this last month.
Event cancellation made easy
Event organizers make a lot of hard decisions, but nothing is as difficult as the one to cancel an event. At Backstage, we'd like to support you better with the process by making it a little easier. That's why we automated three of the most important tasks event organizers have to take care of when canceling an event—updating the event microsite, notifying all event participants, and handling refunds.
To cancel an event in Backstage, select the Cancel option from the dropdown to the right of that event. The Cancel event pop-up will appear, from where you can take care of the event cancellation details. Later on, once the event is canceled, you can unpublish the event microsite.
OTHER UPDATES
- You can now add any image as an event's thumbnail in your portal's event-listing page. Previously, it would display a default image based on your event microsite's theme.
- We've added mobile support for the Zoho Backstage for Organizers Android app to print badges. Now, event organizers can add printers, manage printer settings, and print badges on demand during check-in directly from the app.
- We've updated the Zoho Backstage for Attendees iOS app to include support for online events and remote sessions. Your attendees can now join ongoing virtual sessions by clicking the Join button in the Agenda tab.
