What's New – June 2020

Hello everyone,

This month we worked on making Backstage more adaptable for you and your event needs. We've come up with a few features and enhancements to help you organize smoother events.

Here are the latest updates on Backstage.

Customize roles based on your event team

With every event having different tasks, clearly-defined member roles with distinctive permissions are needed. With Backstage, you can now customize existing member roles to create new roles. You can also set permissions for each of these roles depending on what type of members your event team includes.

You can create new roles and assign them to people in your portal, brand, or event. In addition, you can modify a specific person's responsibilities. This way everyone gets to access data that is relevant to them and will help them complete their duties.

To set up custom roles for a portal: Go to Settings > Roles and privileges
To set up custom roles for a brand: Go to Settings > Brand > Member link > Roles and privileges
To set up custom roles for an event: Go to Manage > Team > Roles and privileges

Provide users control over their data

According to GDPR, we need to be transparent and secure in the way we handle user's personal data. Backstage helps you do this by allowing each microsite visitor to have more control over how their data is managed.

They can do this by requesting for all their data to be downloaded and sent to them. They can also request for all their data to be deleted from the portal. When it comes to emails, users can control which ones they receive. To make these options available to microsite visitors, simply turn on the respective options in your portal settings to receive requests. Requests can be placed in an event microsite in the Profile Settings tab.

To set up data privacy options: Go to Settings > Data Privacy > Settings
To manage data privacy requests: Go to Settings > Data Privacy > Requests

OTHER UPDATES

  • You can now modify your default sub-domain name for your portal in the Settings page at any time. This will change the URL for your event listing page as well as all your events in the portal.
  • We've also added an export option for your event affiliates in the Affiliate tab in the Promote tab. The exported file can be protected with a password if needed, and it can also be downloaded in XLSX, XLS, and CSV formats.

That's all we have for this month's product updates. We'd love to know what you think about these latest additions in the comments below. Also, if there is anything specific you need from us, do send us an email to support@zohobackstage.com. We're happy to help!

Happy organizing!
