What's New in Zoho Expense: May - July 2024

Hello users,

We're back with the latest set of features and updates in Zoho Expense, aimed at improving your expense and travel management experience. This update includes a Per Diem Calculator, a feature to track your loyalty programs, and other enhancements to the Web, Android, and iOS apps. Let's take a look at what's new.

Per Diem Calculator (US Edition)

We've developed a tool that will help employees of an organization calculate Per Diem rates based on U.S. Government guidelines. By calculating business trip expenses using this tool, you can set budgets, request advances, and manage bookings for business trip costs such as meals, lodging, and incidental expenses. Access the Per Diem Calculator and give it a try!

Loyalty Programs

Loyalty Programs allow you to keep track of and manage your loyalty points and rewards from airlines and hotels within Zoho Expense.
Prerequisite: You need to create a travel profile to set up loyalty programs. Learn how to add a travel profile if you haven't done so already.
To create a loyalty program: Go to My View > My Settings > Travel Documents > Loyalty Program > Add New Program and select your preferred option.
Note: We've renamed the Travel Documents tab to Travel Details to help you manage all your travel information in one place. Here, you can manage your travel profile, travel documents, and loyalty programs

New Preference for Tracking Actuals in Budgets

Now, you can track actuals based on individual categories or sub-categories grouped with their respective parent categories.

If you select Individual Categories, the actuals will be tracked separately for each category and sub-category for which the budget is configured. For example, if the budget configured for the category Food and its sub-categories Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are 5000, 1000, 1500, and 2000, the actuals for the parent category Food and its sub-categories will be calculated separately.

If you select Sub-Categories grouped with Parent Categories, the actuals for the parent category will be tracked by adding the actuals of the sub-categories to the respective parent category. For example, if the budget configured for the category Food and its sub-categories Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner are 5000, 1000, 1500, and 2000, the actuals for the parent category Food will be the sum of the actuals for Food and its sub-categories.

To use this preference: Go to Admin View > Budgets > New Budget and select a budget. Choose the Budget Type as Category, and select the required preference.

Home Module in Admin View

We've renamed Dashboard to Home. In the module, you can view your organization's dashboard, recent updates made to the Zoho Expense app, and announcements from the Zoho Expense team.

Note: Going forward, we will share information, such as major changes to the app, webinars, events, and what's new updates in the Announcements tab. Be sure to check it regularly so you don’t miss any information.

iOS App Updates

  • You can now access Zoho Expense in the Canadian French language.

Android App Updates

  • We've added the Cards module to the Android app. In this module, you can view your corporate cards and match the corporate card transactions with expenses.
