What's New in Zoho Inventory | July - September 2024

Hello, users!

We are back with the latest features and enhancements we've made to Zoho Inventory in the last few months. Let's take a quick look at what's new:

Introducing the South Africa Edition

We're thrilled to introduce the newest edition of Zoho Inventory, the South Africa edition.   We've enhanced this edition with features designed to cater specifically to your accounting needs by complying with all the latest rules and regulations levied by the government. We've added support for VAT, capital goods and services, and HSN codes.

Integrate Zoho Inventory with The Courier Guy [South Africa Edition]

We have introduced The Courier Guy shipping integration in Zoho Inventory. You can use this integration to connect customers with various shipping carriers and streamline your shipping.

To setup The Courier Guy Integration: Go to Settings > Integrations & Marketplace > Shipping  > Click Set Up Now under The Courier Guy.

Bin Locations

Introducing Bin Locations in Zoho Inventory. Bin Location is the smallest unit of storage space within a warehouse where you can store your items. This feature allows you to create bins and easily identify and access the items from anywhere in your warehouse. To use this feature, all you have to do is enable it, create bins, and then start using them in transactions. But before you enable Bin Locations in Zoho Inventory, you'll have to ensure you check the below points.

If Batch Number Tracking and Serial Number Tracking options are enabled;

  • Ensure Inventory Tracking Preference is set to Packages, Purchase Receives, and Return Receipts.
  • Mandate serial number or batch tracking in transactions option is enabled.

You can learn more about the Bin Locations feature in detail from our help document.

To enable Bin Locations: Go to Settings > Warehouses > Click the Gear icon on the Warehouse in which you'd like to enable the feature > Click Enable Bin Locations.

Stock Counts

Introducing Stock Counts in Zoho Inventory. Stock Counts is the process of physically counting the stock in the warehouse and verifying the same with the inventory records.

Once the Stock Count is enabled, you can start creating stock counts and assign them to the warehouse staff. Stock Counts can only be done using the Zoho Inventory Mobile Application. The staff can view the counts assigned to them and can start counting and adding them using the mobile app. Staffs can also filter the items based on the manufacturer, brand, and category to make the counting process a breeze. Once the stock count is complete, they can submit the data for approval from the mobile application. Users with approval access can view the matched and unmatched counts along with the overall accuracy of the stock count and proceed to approve them from the web app.  They can also either manually enter the counted quantity or use the barcode scanning to record the counts.

To enable Stock Counts: Go to Settings > Preferences > General > enable Stock Counts.

Enhanced Barcode Templates

You can now customize templates according to your business needs. All you need to do is under Template Properties, you can now add fields like MRP (Maximum Retail Price), Organization Name, Company Logo and Item Units (e.g., kg, litres, pieces) to barcodes. This will help you display precise information about the measurement of the item.

To enable these options in your barcode templates: Go to Settings > Customisation > PDF Template > Item Barcodes > Edit.

Enhance Your Keyboard Navigation

We've added a new Navigate To option in Zoho Inventory to enhance navigation through the app if you majorly rely on keyboard navigation or accessibility tools. You can activate this feature by pressing the shortcut (Option or Alt) + 0 and use the Tab key to navigate through the page.

This feature enables you to jump directly to the Main Content, Left Sidebar, and Tool Bar of the page. For example, if you want to access the Invoices module in the Left Sidebar section of your Zoho Inventory organization, you can select Left Sidebar from the Navigate To dropdown, avoiding the need to navigate through all the other headers and buttons in the page.

Bulk Download E-invoices in JSON Format

You can now download invoices in JSON format, which can be uploaded directly to the E-invoice portal to generate e-invoices without any modifications.

To download invoices in the JSON format, go to Invoices > Select the Invoices > More > click Export as JSON for E-Invoicing.

Print/Download e-Way Bills

We’ve introduced an option to print or download e-Way Bills in the PDF format. This option is available for generated, cancelled, and expired e-Way Bills.

Give these features a try and let us know your thoughts in the comments section below. If you have any queries, send an email to support@zohoinventory.com. We'll be happy to help.

Regards,

The Zoho Inventory Team
