What's New - March 2020

Hello everyone,

At Backstage, our purpose has always been to help event organizers plan and host their best events with minimal hassle. With the COVID-19 pandemic rapidly evolving and the world moving into uncertain times, our priority, like always, will be to have your back. In the last month, along with our current projects, we also worked on building features that we hope would make the current situation a little easier for you. Our goal is to offer you immediate solutions while continuing to set you up for success when things return to normal.

So here's a quick roundup of the latest updates to Backstage.

Host your event online

In the last couple of months, we saw some of the biggest events of the year being postponed and even canceled. However, we also noticed that a lot more people were looking for other options to keep the show going. A favorite among the majority was online events. So we brought that option to Backstage. You can now create an online event from scratch or convert an onsite event into an online one.

Once you've created your online event, you can design a website for it, add speakers, and sell tickets. You can present your sessions with web-conferencing software. Add the online meeting link and the dial-in number to Backstage. Your attendees can then use the link and number to join and participate in the sessions. This way, they get to take part in your event from anywhere in the world.

Zoho Backstage ticketing for trial plans

Back in July of last year, we launched our event ticketing system for members in the Enterprise and Ultimate plans. We introduced it commission-free and with instant payouts because we felt you shouldn't have to compromise on your profits. The response has been amazing so far, and it's currently available in around 49 countries and supports more than 10 payment gateways.

But the best part is that Backstage's ticketing is now available to try for members in the Enterprise and Ultimate plans during the trial period too. In this period, organizers can set up paid ticket classes and sell up to five paid tickets to get an idea of how everything works.

OTHER UPDATES

  • Previously, promotional codes could only be redeemed on whole orders. Now, you have the option to redeem promotional codes on individual tickets too.
  • Add refunds that don't happen via Backstage as offline refunds and keep all your sales information in Backstage.
  • From now on, if microsite visitors who come in through affiliates don't complete the registration process, the affiliate name will also be listed in the Missed Registrations tab of the Manage dashboard.
  • Download an offline copy of the promotional codes you've used in the event by exporting them. You can save the file in an XLXS, XLS, or CSV format.
  • You can now add information from the custom fields in your ticket registration form to attendee badges. All you have to do is drag and drop the required fields on the badge when you design it.

That's all for this month. We recognize that this is a stressful period for everyone and we are committed to serving you in these trying times. Please feel free to contact us if you need anything or have any questions. We will be available at all times at support@zohobackstage.com.

Happy organizing!
