What's New this February 2020 in Zoho Invoice?

We are here to inform you about the first set of updates to Zoho Invoice this year. Check out what our team has put forth for the month of February.

Create related lists to fetch data

At times, you might want to access data from other Zoho Invoice modules or other third-party services. You can now retrieve this data by creating a related list, where a deluge script will fetch the required data. The respective module's details page will then display this data.

To create a related list:
  • Go to Settings > Preferences.
  • Select the module for which you want to create a related list.
  • Navigate to the Related Lists tab on the top.
  • Click New Related List.
  • Enter the deluge script required to access the data.
  • Click Save.

Add a subject to invoices and credit notes

Let your customers know the purpose of a particular invoice or credit note by adding a Subject field. This Subject field can hold a brief description of up to 250 characters. To add this field to your transactions, you have to enable it under Settings. To do so:
  • Go to Settings > Preferences.
  • Select the module for which you want to enable this—either Invoices or Credit Notes.
  • Navigate to the Field Customization tab.
  • Hover over the Subject custom field, and click the dropdown icon.
  • Select Mark As Active.


Now, the Subject field will be available when you create a new invoice or credit note. Your templates will also have this field included by default.



View price lists in the item details page

Price lists help you to customize the rate at which you sell your items. There could be multiple price lists created for one item, and managing them can be tough. You can now view all the different price lists associated with an item in that particular item's details page. You can also edit their custom item rates there.

To do this: Go to Items > Select an item > Navigate to the Overview tab > Under Associated Price Lists, all your associated price lists will be displayed. Hover over a price list and click Edit to edit the custom rate.
