I really believe that a software
must keep information safe, even
more important when we are talking about sensitive information. But once again, I feel disappointed with the complexity to use Zoho Docs.
And please don't take me wrong. I don't hate your software, I started to use it because it is the only option that have the two things (at the same time) that I need:
- You don't treat my information as it was yours (like Google or Microsoft)
- You have real time collaboration
The problem?
- If you want to do a manual backup, surprise! You're just backing up a shortcut!
- If you change a file from one place to another (like I just did yesterday via browser), surprise! My valuable information disappears because of a "cross-device link" thing that explains me nothing at all!
- If you want to know why you cannot sync something (or why it disappeared), you have to navigate through a very confusing notification system (Zoho Docs Sync) that is a mess and gives you so little information about the actual problem, that after the incident you'll have to:
- Accept your destiny and just keep walking hoping that it'll not happen ever again.
- Search on the internet with hope that someone else have the same problem and a solution.
- Write this kind of messages in a forum and patiently wait if someone can give you a real answer to your problem.
My problem is:
I just changed some .zdoc files from one place to another and I received this information from the Zoho Docs Sync app
Now I cannot find those documents ! They just disappeared, and this is not the first time that this has happened to me.
Lesson learned:
Now on I'll use Word (.docx) files to work with Zoho, I cannot trust a software that can, without any warning, arbitrarily delete/remove/disappear my files.
Obviously I would like to know how to recover those files, and please, focus on making
one great thing that do
one great thing at a time, not many things that do ok things and make us, the users, feel insecure or without enough information.
I don't think that I'm the only one with this kind of problems.
