1) Register for an entity ID
An entity ID is a unique number network providers use to identify a business and authorize SMS campaigns. As a business owner in India, you need to register for an entity ID with telecom providers in order to create SMS campaigns. We have mentioned the list of authorized telecom providers here.
2) Get a Sender ID
A sender ID—also known as an SMS header—is an alphanumeric code that you can obtain via the network provider's portal. During the registration process, you must provide information about the nature of your business and the purpose of promotional SMS campaigns. Each sender ID is unique and cannot be shared by multiple businesses. For example, ZOHMAR could be the sender ID for a business named Zoho Marketing. Learn more about registering for sender ID here.
3) Register for a content template ID
To associate specific promotional templates with their sender IDs, businesses receive a unique DLT template ID. Each template ID is linked to one or more sender IDs and represents a specific type of promotional template. This enables businesses to send different kinds of promotional messages based on the templates associated with their DLT template IDs. Purchase SMS credits
You'll need to purchase SMS credits in order to send out campaigns. Zoho Campaigns enables you to send one SMS message per credit in India. Refer to our pricing page for more information. Acquire the necessary SMS credits based on your business needs to plan and execute SMS marketing campaigns effectively.
Existing Zoho Campaigns users
Phone numbers are essential for running SMS campaigns. Previously, we allowed businesses who signed up with campaigns before 18 Aug 2022 to store their customers' contact numbers across phone, mobile, and custom fields. We've since streamlined our contact management. "Mobile number" is the default field for storing and retrieving contact numbers. We enable existing Zoho Campaigns users to migrate contact numbers from other fields to the "mobile number" with the click of a button.
