Hello everyone!
The most pivotal part of building any application is to understand the industry, business operations and standard features/functionalities that are required to get the operations going. Industry is the key here and every feature that we build revolves around this key.
Hence we brainstormed and contemplated the idea of bringing in a new 12 Months 12 Industries concept.
Every month we will take a specific industry - address all the industrial processes and how you can make best use of Creator for that industry. This will enhance the user experience as it will show them how much is possible in Creator.
As we step into our second session, we are showcasing the predominant industry "Retail"
Retail
The retail industry consists of all companies that sell goods and services to consumers.Retail businesses sell items or services to customers for their consumption, and usage. They typically sell items and services in-store but some items may be sold online or over the phone and then shipped to the customer.
Retail app development serves different purposes
- For Sales - It helps in monitoring and maintaining stocks, creating the Invoice for the sales, generating discounts for products etc.,
- For Purchase - Establishing relationship with vendors, Shipments, Billing for goods purchased etc.,
About the session
In this session, we will be showcasing how we can use Zoho Creator in building an application that can be used in the Super markets or Hyper markets, where we can create stock for the items, generate SKU code for each product, scan the barcode and generate Invoice using the print template.
We will be integrating Zoho creator with Zoho Inventory to manage the Stock out flow and stock Inflow.
Barcode Scanner
Besides typing an input in any of the form field's input area, you can enable your users with the following modes of input when they access your form from a phone or tablet:
- Scanning a QR (Quick Response) code
- Scanning a bar code
QR code and bar code are machine-readable codes that are typically used for storing data. Thus if your users have generated a QR code or bar code containing the input they want to enter, they can simply scan it.
We will focus on
- Generating a BarCode for each product in the store
- Using the Barcode generated, we will create an Invoice.
Print template
A print template is a blank design file that is set up according to the specifications of the product you want to print.
We will focus on the
- Creating invoice template for sales billing
- Use the print template to print the barcode generated and will be using for tagging the store product.
