Zoho Writer Equation Editor Issues
Hello,
I am using Zoho Writer to create a document which is filled with many mathematical equations that I have entered by using the equation editor tool. So far my experience with it has been poor at best:
- My biggest (and most showstopping) issue with it has been that many of my equations will randomly disappear after the document has been saved and closed. There have been instances where all of the equations in the entire document have disappeared, leaving me with only the other text in the document. The only workaround to this is rolling back to a previous version of the document, and hoping that there aren't to many changes to make between the "good" version and the latest version.
- When I click on an existing equation to edit it, the small editor window that appears will always show an encoded output in the text area, with all of the spaces replaced with plus signs. For example: here would be the original input: 3 + 1 = 4; and later the edited input: 3+++1+=+4. This is also the case with the Pop-up Equation Editor.
- The Pop-up equation editor always displays the TeX input from the previous equation, even if it was from a separate document. Even if I remove the contents, and enter the TeX for a new equation, the editor will apply my TeX to the previous equation.
- For about one out of every three equations that I enter, the image is at first rendered very small. A long equation is squished down to an unreadable size, and the only way to fix that is to click on the equation, wait for the equation editor to appear, and click "OK" to have it properly re-insert the equation.
- I also miss the keyboard shortcut that used to bring up the equation, Ctrl+K, I believe.
I have used Zoho Writer off an on from about one and half years now, and none of these used to be an issue, with the disappearing equations being the newest problem occurring within the last two or three days. Most of these issues I have coped with for several months, but at this point, it has become very regular to loose equations.
I am using Zoho Writer because of its superior LaTeX output, as I find its rendering to be much cleaner and easier to read than even Google's equation editor. However, it is very difficult to create (and now to maintain) a document with equations. For me, whether or not this issue can be quickly fixed or at least find a temporary workaround will decide whether or not I continue using this service.
I am using FireFox 9.0.1 on Windows 7 Enterprise 32-bit Edition.
Is there a way that I can work around these issues (at least the first one)?
Thank you for your time,
OS
