Problems with Zoho.
Hi. I've been having some problems with Zoho and I was about to move all my documents to another word processor, but I like Zoho so I thought I'd try this first. Here are a few things that have been happening: The font constantly changes back to Verdana when I start new lines and I have to highlight the text and change it back to the font I had selected. Whenever a make a line of text bold, the bold option will not go off after. I have to continue typing in bold, then select the text and change it

Formatting issues
When viewing the uploaded documents in IE7 the formatting messes up eg; header disappears, text which should be centred is pushed right (sometimes outside of view), tables and checkboxes are out of alignment. The only issue I have had with FF is the headers sometimes disappear. Is there an update or any other way to fix this in IE7? (my clients aren't able to update/change their browesr)
Character count wrong
I am working on a zoho writer document that reports to be 7200 characters long, however, when I export it and look at in open office it report 9400 characters. Using the unix command line tool 'wc' also reports the same 9400 characters. So it seems that zoho character count is wrong. lan
Position insertion point for Table of Contents
The Writer Table of Contents feature would be far more useful if I could position the table of contents where I want it to appear in the document without editing source code, for example, if I want an article title to appear above the table of contents or a cover page to precede the table of contents.
Protected Document Import
This is likely a rare issue: Imports of file-protected Word documents (a document requiring a password to open) fails on import to Writer. No prompt if provided for credentials to allow the file to be opened and imported, with the import failing. Note, the application properly notes the import failed, providing an error and leaving the application intact (the exception is handled gracefully). It appears simply that Writer has no provision for opening protected docs.
Bugs
I&'m experiencing line height, font size and font display bugs, to the point where I cannot use this software effectively. I realize that this is a beta, however - I&'ll keep checking in. I think you guys are doing great work, here, and Zoho will be a very useful thing once it is completed. Good luck!

copy and paste problem for math equation
Hi, I use firefox under linux and When I use copy and paste, it told me I need use ctrl-C and ctrl-V. But when I use it to copy and paste a math equation, it seem a picture be copied, not a equation. then I can't edit it. Is it a bug? Yunfei
counting words
showing the number of words only when saving is not essential and is not useful. If there is a button for sounting number of words, it would be fine and best. What if i want to count the words before saving? vikyboss
Suggestion for Word Count
I'd like to make a suggestion for the word-count feature on Zoho Writer. I already like yours much better than Google Docs, simply because you tell me any time I save my document what the word count is up to. But I'd like something else also. As a professional writer, I almost ALWAYS have a certain number of words that my current client wants. Sometimes this means adding more words, sometimes it means taking some out. I find myself repeatedly needing to know how many words are in a certain section.
Non-Latin characters ignored in word count
Words consisting from non-Latin characters only are ignored in word count. I can have an entire document written in Russian and when saving, it still says: 1 word, 0 characters.
Numbering figures for instance...
I am trying to add numbered caption to images, like we use to do in scientific articles. I can add sequence numbers. I can even write something near the number, but I can't add text. Every time the file is saves my caption is deleted. How can I add text near the sequence number?

changes not saved - format Times New Roman
Hi there, the following often happens: I edit a document - make some changes: formatting text, adding Titel header format etc. I save my online work, close the file and afterwards edit the document: then the formatting is not saved, everything has changed to Times New Roman. Exporting documents and maintaining the color font
When I export word documents with different colored fonts they all come out black in the process. Anyone have the same problem or a solution?

Better Print Preview
It would be nice if there was some sort of preview that showed how it would actually fit onto an 8.5 x 11 sheet so you could tell how many pages it will be when you print it. I only had to write a two-page reflection for school, and I ended up writing three pages and wasting time because I couldn't tell. thx

Gawd I love zoho. It looks so great! Could you please find a way that i could use this with the iPad. What a perfect solution for all ipad users. I would pay foe an ap that accesses zohos applications. Really great keep up the super work.
Printing Envelopes in Zoho Writer?

Hi, Is there a way to make hanging indents like in MS Word? I collaborate with people writing scripts and Zoho's collaboration capabilities would be a great productivity booster as we'd be able to work on the same document simultaneously. Page Setup - Paper Size
Hi There When will the Page Set-up option offer page sizes other than A4, Letter, Legal, and Executive? I ask as I'm trying to produce a A5 newsletter for printing and snail mailing but the page set-up is very annoying as it doesn't even offer a custom paper size. So I have had to fiddle around with the page layout for it to sort of work. Even Adobe Buzzword has a custom paper size option, so when will Zoho Writer? Regards Richard

Cant Resize Image in Writer (Google Chrome)
Hello! First of all, I would like to thank for the great product you are developing! Im having a problem in Zoho Writer when I try to resize or move images. It just doesnt show the correct mouse cursor and controls. The mouse cursor is still the text cursor over the image and arround it, I can not select it and resize it like in Internet Explorer. When i use ctrl+v to paste words to file in zoho writer. It keeps show me processing... and the browser dead, can't do any change, i tried IE8, Firefox, Google Chrome, same problem. REsolution of equations
The equation editor works very well, but the resolution of the rendered equations only seems suitable for viewing on a monitor. Printing them out they look very fuzzy. pbeyersdorf

I clicked share to share my document. I entered an e-mail address clicked the share button. The recipient received the e-mail, but the link was not clickable. When he pasted the link in his browser URL line, it showed an error. Why?

Can't import zipped google docs?
Hi, When I try to import a zipped file of all my exported google word docs, I get a zip file corrupt error. Zoho writer won't accept it. I tried both Microsoft Word and Open Office formats. Same error. I was able to import html format, but then all my file names show in Zoho as "index". I would have to go through and rename each file. Any idea what's going on? Thanks, Sam
Skipping cursor on backspace with Chrome
The other showstopping bug for me has been how the cursor skips back several spaces and highlights an entire word when I hit backspace using the Chrome browser. This does not happen every time, but often enough so it makes the Writer unusable. In my included graphic at the end of the last partial word I hit backspace, and it skipped back to the beginning of the word right before the "b". You cannot see the cursor, but you can see the extra space that got added from this happening.
Comments bug
I've been experiencing a little glitch lately and it would really help if it was fixed. When I use the comments feature in Zoho Writer (Insert -> Add Comment), every time the document is autosaved my cursor shifts to the main document and leaves the comment. This is very inconvenient because I will be in the middle of a thought but from that point on everything I type will go into the wrong place. When I catch the error, I have to retype everything and it wastes time and breaks my train of thought.

I can't figure out how to tag my documents into different folders; I tried to read the FAQs and still can't make sense out of it; are there any good detailed instructions about how to do this? thanks Tom

Table insert
Recently there have been some problems inserting tables for me. Two things are happening. 1. After making the table, I insert some text and blank lines are added, increasing the size of the cell. I don't want that, and have explored various ways to bypass it but as of yet have not found a way. This behavior did not happen before. I am using Firefox browser, 3.6.3. 2.
