A mess... Import from Word DOC file looks all mixed up. I'll check back in a year... Meantime, keep working on it.
spell check not working
i am using ie 8 with all updates on xp and trying your program writer. the spell check is very erratic. sometimes it works but mostly it doesn't. the idea of online word processing and the other programs is great but it will get a black eye if people try it and it screws up all the time.
Inserting special characters into documents
I don't see any way to insert the macron "over" a vowel in Zoho Writer. I can only insert an empty macron at this point, with nothing underneath it. I need to place a straight horizontal line (a macron) directly above some of the vowels I type, because many of the words I am writing are Classical Latin words which require the macron. Is there a keystroke combination, or any other way, I can accomplish this in Zoho Writer?
Delete of selections
A friend of mine (windows) and I (os x) have been unable to delete a selection of text using the backspace or delete key. It only erases one character in the selection.

I just created a new account. During that process the script replied that my absolutely, completely accurate and valid e-mail address (hope.greenberg@uvm.edu) was not valid. Fortunately I had another e-mail address that I could use but if it was objecting to the period between hope and greenberg this is obviously a bug!

Typing maxes out CPU on Linux
When I constantly type in Writer I can see my CPU maxed out and I can feel the slowness and see the cursor ("|") flicker. This is openSUSE 10.3 Linux with: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071128 SUSE/2.0.0.11-1.5 Firefox/2.0.0.11 I do not get this behavior with other WYSIWYG editors (tinymce, google docs), also not when typing text in Zoho Notebook and Sheet. I can also reproduce this on two other Linux systems.

I cannot import a 7kb document to this application, the file is not hidden or read-only either. go figure!
how to access the operating system's cut/copy/paste buffers?
Okay, it appears that Zoho Writer has it's own cut/copy/paste buffer separate from the operating system's cut/copy/paste buffer. I can cut/copy/paste fine within Zoho Writer documents loaded into separate Zoho-tabs (as opposed to different browser tabs), but I can not cut/copy/paste data from the operating system's cut/copy/paste buffer into any Zoho Writer documents. This is critical. I am part of a group of people that are writing a formal business proposal, and we chose Zoho Writer for it's collaboration

Bookmarklet not working
Your options instructions state," 1. Drag/Add the bookmarklet to your Bookmarks Toolbar or Links Bar. 2. Notifications when a doc is modified
I'd like to see notifications about a document being updated go out to those individuals with whom a document, sheet, etc... is shared. Or at least give them the option to be notified. I'm aware that a notification IS sent when a document is initially shared. thoma

today i saw the speach of obama at cnn before the speach they did show something that they called "brand new tecnique" they have taken a transcript of a speach and they did a wordcloud of it the most used words did appear bery big and strong at this clowd and the less used words did appear very small they did use a strange design with colours and they did write the words up to down and left to right so that they all appear on a small clowd similar word ot tag clowds we allready know from internet
HTML export problem
hi all i did a document insert two different headings (h1 and h2) at heading 1 i atached a footnote i insert a table of content so in the editor all is +/- ok i only miss the display of the footnote at the end of document (document is only one site so the footnote should be visible at the end of this page, but is not) now i export as HTML the table of content is now totaly lost! (away/invisble/lost) footnotes are lost (i see the place holder, the #1 after the heading but the footnote is invisible
Costs for charity business
I administer a small charity. We would like to consider ZC for keeping our documents on line with four groups of five people having access to their group's docs. How would I set this up? What are the cost implications? The user policy seems to be subject to change without notice. I need to know what we would have to budget.
Every time my file saves automaticall...
Everytime my file I am working on saves automatically, my screen freezes while it saves & I cannot type! Since it saves many times in one hour, I lose lots of time, while I wait for it to stop been frozen, so I can type again! forwarding of attached documents in email to Writer
Is there a way to forward an email with document attachments directly into the Zoho writer? For example, it would be great if one could receive an email then be able to forward that to the Zoho Writer for immediate import. Does any thing exist as such? Does that make sense to have that capability. Actually, the ultimate would be to forward all attached documents to, maybe Zoho office then it would reroute the appropriate documents to the correct Zoho application. Missing text after reopening writer
I found that not all data in documents are saved, after opening a document I missed data and text.

Offline Trouble
Dear Zoho, I would like to thankyou for making soooooo many free and powerful tools for us to use!! I am not a computer person. Never did any sort of programming or anything so your site beats out google's free docs!! Though I do have a problem when I go offline. The steps I used: Downloaded Google Gears (installed sucessfully) Browser restarted. Then I logged back onto my Zoho account. I went to Zoho Writer and click the Offline button. Trouble with tables in Safari 4 beta
For the most part, Writer performs well with Safari 4 Beta. I run into an error when working with tables. I haven't pinpointed when it occurs, but I keep getting a message that says "remove this node from the document" when I work with tables. The message about 7-8 times consecutively, and then disappears when I click "ok." This seems to go away if I refresh the page.
Google Analytic support
Google doc allows to track its documents through Google Analytics. For most part it involves adding few lines of javascript at end of the html code. I tried to do the same thing for a document created in Zoho Writer and published it as web page that can be viewed in a web browser. The page work just fine at this url http://writer.zoho.com/public/jalam/test-for-google-from-embed But the Google Analytic code is missing if I look at the html of the page. Therefore, I can not track the use of this page
Things break when "minimum text size" is set
...especially the ruler-bar and the buttons with text on them. Could you at least let them scale with minumum text size (set by the browser)?

hi all i did open writen in the personal site i did a document i insert text i go to html view i insert CSS in CSS tab body { padding-top:20mm; padding-bottom:20mm; padding-left:40mm; padding-right:20mm; } i save go to document view in site setings the borders are zero now i go to print preview i click print as PDF the boorders look good but the bottom page borser looks not good on each page! it writes until last line at very buttom of page and at site 2 it beginns at very top of site with first

Most of Zoho Writer interface not showing up
We are using the API version of Zoho Writer. One of our users is seeing only a few components of the Zoho Writer interface when she attempts to to open a document. Please e see the attached screen shot, and note the "javascript error" icon in the lower lefthand corner. Do you have only idea why this could be happening only for this one user? Autosaved is not working for me
Although it is displaying as autosaved successfully at regular intervals, it does not gets saved for me, i have lost whatever i had update in zoho writer.

Is there anyway I can print to a PDF as a default rather than having to go into print preview and then chosing that option?
Can't open any of my old Z Writer v1 Docs in v2
Hi, I can open all my old V1 docs in the new V2 editor, in edit mode, however I cannot edit anything. It just doesn't let me me in...it appears locked out. I can create a new document no problems...just can't edit an existing one. Weird. Any suggestions? Thanks Luke
footnotes gone in new menu bar?
i've been using footnoting on a zoho doc i've had for months. suddenly, when the menu bar was reformatted, the footnote option disappeared. maybe i'm missing something? need very much to use footnotes. help! thanks. patrick

Bonjour, Votre nouvelle version est tout simplement ennyeuse et déconne gravement, comme toujours, avec Safari. Je me connecte à Writer avec mon autre compte utilisateur et lorsque je vais à gauche dans l'onglet "mes documents", rien à faire ils ne s'affichent même pas, j'ai plus accès. C'est trés ennuyant car maintenant je ne sait même plus utiliser Writer ! S'il vous plait remettez l'ancienne version elle était bien mieux et plus rapide, et au moins j'aurais accès à mes documents.
