editing snafu
Today is my first day to try Zoho Writer. I imported a Word document to edit and share with a friend. I couldn't make any changes to the document. Is there something I need to do to enable the editing feature or should I just be able to jump in and edit? Thanks. cannescot
Zoho Writer unable to retrieve document from remote server
I'm trying to integrate the Zoho Writer into our application but am getting some weird retrieval errors. Zoho Writer is initially able to import the remote file from a url but after awhile it'll stop even requesting the file and give an error saying "Unable to import file". Is there a limit to the number of times a url can be accessed thru the writer? Or is there a limiter on how fast the writer can be accessed from a given hostname?
glitch for iphone to work
this works to help you type a document using the iphone go to edit a document, go to the bottom left and click the search icon. then click the little text box and itll open the keyboard, then click or hold, sometimes one works and another doesnt back into the big text box, if keyboard remains open try to type, it will show up in the document. note: this doesnt work all the time but it did about 30 seconds ago. i discovered it 4 weeks ago lol but never thought about posting it. and about the other

Word doc
I have a word doc that is basically just a collection of links to hotels all over america. When I import this list, it opens and looks OK, but when I try to click on any of the links, it spikes my CPU usage, slowing the browser down to a crawl. This renders this document virtually useless, as I need to access this document while on the phone with customers and need to be able to click/surf on the fly. Any suggestions? If you can fix this issue, I'll become a huge advocate of this product! djlitvinof

Startup
I wish that when I loaded Writer it didn't automatically load a blank document. Sometimes I just want to come on to edit an existing document. At least give me the choice in the options as to whether it loads on startup or not. Thankyou robertsugget

saveurl called not invoked in IE 6
Hi, I'm using the Remote API to Writer, and it's brilliant in Firefox 2.0. However, in IE6 it doesn't work so well... The request I'm sending (from cURL in PHP) should be identical - all the POST fields are the same between FF and IE - but the URL I give as the saveurl just isn't invoked in IE when I click on Save. Document Saved is not displayed. Have you had problems like this before? Any suggestions on how I can debug it? Thanks!

Hello, I'm using zoho writer's API to save files to remote server. When I click the "Save" text, it works fine under Mozilla Firefox, with a red box appearing to indicate that the document is saved. But on Internet Explorer, when I click "save" nothing happens at all... Do you have any idea of where it can come from ?
Discussing shared documents
Someone shared a document with me, and I'd like to make some comments on it, but every time I click the "head" icon (next to the version number), the discussion pane pops up and says, "you have to share this document to discuss it here." No share option pops up in my editor toolbar. What am I missing? jasonlibrarian
Unable to import content for certain txt files
Certain text files give the "Unable to import content" error. There is nothing wrong with these text files, but they may be saved in a different format from the ones that work (such as ASCII, MSDOS, etc). I was wondering if there is a fix for this somehow.
tags
Tags / folders are powerful! Their power is, however, diminished when sharing a document with someone who uses a different tagging discipline. I would find it more useful if tags for each document were stored with the user and not with the document. mik

Drag and drop both folders and documents
In Zoho Writer, I would love to organize projects by dragging and dropping folders and documents. For example, I could have a folder for a story, a sub-folder for a chapter, and individual documents for scenes in the chapter. Then I could drag and drop to rearrange the order of both chapters and scenes. This is now possible in the PageFour writing program for creative writers, which is Windows only. You could take a look at how they do it, then see how to do it in Zoho Writer.
cant save as XLSsave as .xls

Re-order documents
I`d like to be able to re-order documents with drag and drop. I see you can do that now wth Zoho Planner. As I like to have my most used documents at the top, so I dont have to look for them.

I Imported a 31KB Word doc. from my harddrive. Typed 3 letters into it. Exported it back to my harddrive. It’s now 81KB. Why has it more than doubled in size? markh128

I created a small document which I saved as, zoho-mh-junk_20070717 1) Date/Timestamps are USA, not local (Australia). can this be changed so all new docs get local create date/time? 2) I did Email > Out > Email-ID: markh1289@yahoo.com. I got an email from markh1289 (my ZoHo registered name) Subject: zoho-mh-junk_20070717 (the name of the document). Then when I open this email it has Nothing in the following fields, Date, From, To, Subject. It has no text in the body and no attachment. Not too useful!

Interface Comparison with Google Docs
I have been using ZohoWriter for a while now, and I have been watching similar services (like Google Docs). Initially, I used ZohoWriter because its interface was *way* better than that of Google Docs, but now, I think, development on the interface (only the visual design, not the function) has stagnated, while Google has developed a new, shiny interface. ok,folks, here i am to comment on zoho, really, i kiked it pretty much, after you put it on saved, it is easy to choose between angel writer and zoho. since i am a text writer, my texts are always pretty different, that"s why it is useful to have both - zoho and angel. thee are pretty few users of computers here in brazil, who do their research efficiently in order to get s much in- formation possible for their workflow. dimitry dimitryushako

Your online office suite is excelant. I was wishing it converted from PDF to your word prossor format being it converts from PDF. If it could do this life would be so nice I could just use your program for almost all my needs and could dump the heavey downloaded Microsoft Office program and have more file space on my laptop. Left justification not respected
Hi, I had imported an Openoffice doc version 2 *.odt into Zoho writer. Some paragraphs were originally left justified, but after being imported they appear centered, and if I click on "left justification" button, I do not get any left justification. If I click on "centered" one, I still not obtain any change. Done with XP and MSIE 6.0. Thx gu
SSL?!
Zohowriter is a very cool tool - BUT - why is there no SSL user login available? Transmitted passwords in clear text are not really up-to-date in 2006. This makes in impossible to use the tool in a secure way. markus_
Hi, I'm a noob
I signed on to ZOHO on Wednesday. Yesterday I had the most frustrating experience trying to type a writer document. Many features did not seem to work: I couldn't , for example, re-format text to bold or underline consistently, (i.e., it worked sometimes, and sometimes it didn't). The same was true for many of the features. Finally, I got frustrated and exported it to Word (that worked well), and finished it there. I'd really like this package to work. But, man! I spent a very frustrating 2 hours
trouble signing in from Opera on a Nokia 770 internet tablet
I tried signing in to Zoho Writer both from zoho.com as well as from izoho.com, but in both cases I cannot get past the sign-in dialog. When I enter my id/password and press the submit button, the little text next to it changes to "signing in ...", but nothing else happens vspalle
