New in Zoho Forms: Inline OTP Verification

Hello form builders,

We are excited to announce the launch of Inline OTP Verification in Zoho Forms, a smarter way to ensure the authenticity of the contact details you collect.

Until now, OTP Verification in Zoho Forms worked as a pre-access step: respondents had to verify their email or phone number before they could even view your form. While this works great for exclusive or high-security forms, we understand that not every form requires such a gated approach.

That’s where Inline OTP Verification comes in. Instead of blocking access to the form, the verification happens within the form-filling process itself.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Your respondent enters their email or phone number.
  2. Clicks Verify right inside the form.
  3. Instantly gets an OTP via email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
  4. Verifies and continues filling out the form smoothly.

This ensures that the data you collect is genuine, while keeping the form experience smooth and user-friendly.

Why does this matter?

  • Prevents fake entries and throwaway emails/phone numbers.
  • Improves the quality of your CRM data (if you are pushing form submissions into your CRM).
  • Enhances the respondent experience with a seamless, non-intrusive flow.
  • Offers you the flexibility to choose between Inline OTP Verification or Pre-access OTP Verification depending on your form’s needs.

You now have not one, but two powerful options in Zoho Forms:

  • OTP Verification (pre-access): Perfect for exclusive forms where only verified users should even see the form.

  • Inline OTP Verification: Great for general forms, ensuring valid details without blocking access.
