Inviting External Non-Zoho Users

Inviting External Non-Zoho Users

I have attempted to set up chat with an external user using two different approaches found in your articles/forum, but neither method worked.

First, I created a channel following this article. Through this method an email invite was sent to the recipient. The email is simple and has a single button to click which is labeled "Join Cliq Now"
Upon clicking, the external user is sent to the frontend Zoho website 'All Products' section under the 'Cliq' product. Which allows for them to sign up to join Zoho via a free trial. Because this external user is not a Zoho user they are not interested in taking on this expense so we can chat in real-time.
Next, I attempted to add them as a contact using the approach described in this article. Again, a simple email is generated and delivered to the external user. In fact, it is the exact same link...asking them to join Zoho with a free trial.

Both of these two articles state a similar result will be found:
- "In this channel [participants] from [any company] can be invited and your team can collaborate seamlessly in a single chat window."
- "Invite external users as your Contacts. Once the user accepts your contact invite, you can start talking with them."
(nothing is mentioned about invited participants being members of Zoho)

Clearly, I am doing something wrong or missing something. Looking forward to your support. Thanks

Then, click on the three dots to open a pop up menu. Here, click on the Reply button and type the reply to the message in the compose box and press Enter.   Voila, that was pretty simple.
