Get to know Zoho Workerly's new Rate Rules

Hola!

As a temp staffing agent, you are constantly calculating temp pay as soon as jobs get completed. Workerly's Timesheets, Invoice, and Export to Payroll features remove this tedious manual work. As soon as a job is completed, timesheets are generated with agent and temp time stamps. Once approved, an invoice can be generated using the Zoho Books integration, and the data can then be exported to the payroll system.

We are constantly working to introduce more features that minimize your paperwork and follow-up tasks. Zoho Workerly is delighted to announce a new feature addition: Rate Rules! These are used to define Overtime and Special rates in Workerly.

How is it helpful for agents?
Agents who assign a temp to a client's job will be handling their payments as well. Workerly's Rate Rules feature lets these agents pre-define the increased rate in a temp's base pay during circumstances like working overtime or during a holiday/weekend. These rates are divided into two categories: Overtime and Special rates. You can define rate rules under these categories as needed. Here is a chart to help you understand more about Zoho Workerly's Rate Rules.

Workerly allows only Overtime or Special rates to be active at one time. Switching from one rate rule to another will automatically deactivate the former. Once the rate rule is defined and saved, it will be automatically used for calculating temp's pay starting from the date mentioned in the rate rule. Consider this scenario: An agent has set an overtime rate rule for temp pay starting from Feb 20. Now, the agent decides to switch to special rates on Feb. 25 and set the starting date as Feb. 27. The temp pay rate will be calculated with overtime rates until Feb. 27, and it will switch to special rates on Feb. 27.

Please note that, currently, Zoho Workerly's rate rules will be visible only for agents under Setup. When generating timesheets, the defined dates are used in back-end calculations. You can view the pay splits under Reports and Invoice

Both timesheet types (Start & End time specified and Only Hours specified) can use overtime rates whereas only Start & End timesheets can use special rates. This is because Start & End timesheets allow you to enter break hours, too. Special rates are calculated from the total working hours, and that is obtained with the formula: Total Working Hours = (Start Time + End Time) - Break Hours
