Tips and tricks #52: Present data visually on a slide using the different shape options in Show

Hi All!

In addition to the shape options we discussed in the previous post, Show offers a few more elements under Shape in the top bar to help you create beautiful presentations.

Indicate quantifiable data using Smart Elements

Smart Elements are useful when you want to include visual references in a presentation. For example, you may want to show some statistics, values, or a range of values to the audience. In such cases, you can use Circular, Arc, Vertical, or Horizontal indicators.

Likewise, you can use the Clock indicators when you want to include a timer or indicate the different time zones around the globe.

If you want to display group-related data, such as the employee gender ratio or the total head count of a particular department, you can choose the People indicator.

Display information clearly using Silhouettes

You can use dark shapes or outlines from Silhouettes to add simple visual to your slide.

Business silhouettes are an ideal choice for all your marketing and sales presentations. For example, you can use a silhouette of two individuals conversing when you want to tell the audience that they can contact the Support team with questions

You can use Athlete silhouettes when talking about sports or physical education.

You can use Emotions silhouettes on a slide when you want to reinforce an emotional concept, like using a 'Grinning Face with Big Eyes' shape that evokes joy when you are explaining a customer success story.

Likewise, you can use Hand Gestures like a "thumbs up" or handshake when you're talking about signing contracts or making an agreement.

Currency silhouettes are useful when you want to show some financial statistics or pricing values in the slide deck.

Additionally, Show offers shapes like human figures from Humaaans, Twemojis, and Feather icons under Add-Ons in the top bar to help you create engaging presentations.

Try using trendy human figures in the slides to personify your brand. For example, you can include illustrations of a doctor when you are dealing with a topic related to the healthcare industry. You can further customize these shapes, mix and match their components to form a completely new figure.

Twemojis are a great option when you want to add a friendly tone or use these colorful shapes as design elements in the background. You can also include open source icons in your slide deck when you want to emphasize any concept.
