HOW CAN I ADD NOTE FIELD IN EMAIL TEMPLATE?

I have an email template which i use as a lost deal notification. I would like to mention "Note" field also which captures the reason for the lost deal. I am not able to do so and i checked with help desk and they confirmed that it is not possible.

Is that really the case? This is a basic analysis which any business owner would need. 

Would appreciate some insight
