Just over a year ago, Instagram launched Threads, the all new social media app primarily focusing on sharing text online. It was welcomed by people worldwide with more than 10 million users in just seven hours, and it currently has over 175 million active users. It lets you share posts up to 500 characters and can include photos, videos, audio, topic tags, or even polls.
 
Unlike platforms like Instagram or Facebook, where the photo or the video takes center stage, Threads offers the best space to initiate a conversation with your audience. What starts with a simple thought, a question, or an idea can pave the way for your audience to chime in with their opinions as replies, forming a thread of engagement.



The main advantage of establishing a Threads profile for your brand is that you don't have to start from scratch. Because Instagram created Threads, you can easily sign up and import all your information, such as your profile picture, bio, and verification—along with your entire audience—from Instagram.

How can brands use Threads?

It's already challenging and exhausting for social media managers and marketers to keep track of what's trending and come up with engaging content, all while building a strong audience base. Brands have to be available across all channels such as Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube, and Threads, along with so many other channels that are out there. Threads announced the beta of integration into the fediverse back in March 2024, and now it's already available for users across more than 100 countries.

The fediverse is a decentralized social network of interconnected servers that allows users to communicate with each other. This means that your Threads profile can be followed by users across various other services in the fediverse like Mastodon, PixelFed, and a lot more, and engage with your content. You'll be able to view all the likes and other interactions with your post across the fediverse.
