Zoho Inventory Now Supports VeriFactu for Businesses in Spain

Zoho Inventory Now Supports VeriFactu for Businesses in Spain

Starting from January 1, 2026, Spain requires real-time invoice reporting for all B2B transactions. From July 2026, this requirement will extend to B2C transactions as well. All reporting must be carried out through the VeriFactu to AEAT (Agencia Estatal de Administracion Tributaria). This reform is a part of Spain's Anti-Fraud Law intended to ensure transparency, and integrity of billing data.

Under this model, instead of sending the invoices directly to the customer, it must be submitted and validated in the AEAT. Once validated, AEAT will include a QR code to the invoice PDF and an acknowledgement as a proof of submission. The status of the invoice - accepted, pending, or rejected - is then communicated to the sender's system.

Once an invoice is submitted to AEAT, it becomes a legal record and cannot be modified or deleted. Any adjustment, such as returns or cancellations, must be made via a correction invoice (factura rectificativa). This ensures audit integrity and compliance with the rules laid down as part of the anti-fraud law.

Notes
Note: To help businesses comply with anti-fraud law, Zoho has enabled setup across the following products in the Zoho Finance suite.
  1. Zoho Books
  2. Zoho Inventory
  3. Zoho Billing
  4. Zoho Invoice
Users under Zoho One and Zoho Finance Plus can also send invoices to AEAT from the application they currently use. Learn how VeriFactu works in Zoho Inventory.

How VeriFactu Works?

When a transaction is created in Zoho Inventory, it is securely transmitted through B2Brouter to AEAT.
Upon acceptance, Zoho Inventory updates the invoice with AEAT's QR code and updates the status of the invoice.

This functionality extends to,
  1. Cross border transactions.
  2. Subscription invoices.
  3. Project invoices.
  4. Correction invoices.
Notes
Note: If corrections or cancellations are required for an invoice, it can be done using a correction invoice in Zoho Inventory
