DYK 6 - Task Assignment from the Workload Report

Did You Know tasks can be assigned from the Workload Report?

As projects evolve, tasks pile up and distributing them equally among team members becomes a balancing act. Identifying over-allocated and underutilised members gets complicated when task assignment and workload visibility are handled separately. This makes users switch between screens to allocate resources evenly.

For instance, a pre-sales team assigns incoming demo requests using a round robin method. When a demo gets cancelled, that slot opens up while another team member may already have sessions lined up. When a new demo request comes in, the manager needs to know who has the open slot before making the assignment. From the Workload Report, the manager can view the entire team's schedule in one place and drag and drop the new request to the right person without switching screens.

To assign tasks from the Workload Report, hover over the task and click  to update the task owner.

Benefits:

3. Enables timely delivery by ensuring work is allocated evenly across members.
