The Tasks section displays a comprehensive list of tasks within a project. By default, the section shows users all open tasks in the List view. Users have the option to switch between different views—either default or custom—through a drop-down menu.
They can also organize tasks by grouping them by milestones or task lists. For ease of tracking, the List and Gantt views arrange tasks in chronological order, whereas the Kanban view presents them as cards. Users can add, edit, manage, assign, reorder, and export tasks within all views, respectively.
Use case
For example, as a product manager, you can navigate to your software development project. Add a task and title it as 'Backend Development'. Specify modules, required APIs, and performance benchmarks in the description. You can assign this task to the lead backend developer. Set a task dependency to make sure that the Frontend Integration task waits for the completion of the Backend Development task.
For any queries on API integration in the process, frontend developers can quickly consult the team by using Zoho Cliq from the task detail page. This will open a chat window for direct communication. If timelines shift, the lead developer can adjust the end date for the task. After finishing the backend, change the status to Completed, which will initiate the frontend integration task. Use the Kanban view to track the status of tasks and, if needed, export task data for stakeholder updates.
