How to use the South Africa Tax Edition?

While onboarding, choose South Africa as the country you are based in.


Key Highlights of this Edition

  • Fully supports Value-Added Tax (VAT) as per South African regulations.

  • Assign Tax Rules to Services and Parts

    While adding services or parts, you can select a Tax Rule pulled directly from Zoho Books/Invoice settings under VAT Rules. Supported options include:
    - Standard Rate - Sales (15%)
    - Zero Rate - Sales (0%)
    - Exempt - Sales

  • Set VAT Treatments for Contacts and Companies

    Each contact or company must have a VAT Treatment assigned:
    - VAT Registered
    - Non-VAT Registered
    - Overseas

  • Automated VAT Application in Transactions

    In modules like Estimates, Work Orders, and Service Appointments, VAT is auto-applied to each service or part line item based on:
    - The VAT Treatment of the customer
    - The Tax Rule of the Service/Part

    Tax names are filled in automatically—but you can edit them if needed.
