Greetings,
As you may know, Bigin is built on Zoho CRM's infrastructure. Last year, Zoho CRM separated the Activities module into three distinct modules: Tasks, Events, and Calls. This change was implemented to address technical backend challenges associated with managing all these entities within a single module and to enable future enhancements for each module.
Since Bigin has displayed Tasks, Events, and Calls as separate entities within the Activities module from the start, this change in Zoho CRM has had minimal impact so far. However, in Dashboards, we've continued to present them collectively under the Activities module. As the backend no longer supports this structure, we're now planning to align with the new setup by splitting the Dashboard components for Activities into separate modules for Tasks, Events, and Calls.
How does this impact you?
Previously, when creating components in Dashboards to track activity-related statistics, you would see Activities as a single option in the Modules dropdown. Going forward, Tasks, Events, and Calls will appear as separate options. This enables you to track statistics for each of these entities individually and derive more detailed insights.
Note: This change will not affect or delete any data in your Bigin account.
Migration of existing components
If you've previously created components using the Activities module, they can be migrated in one of the following ways:
Automatic migration:
Manual migration (Needs your action)
If a component contains fields from multiple entities within the Activities module, you'll need to migrate it manually.
Simply click the Migrate Now button displayed in the component and follow the steps to complete the process.
Please refer to the images below and ensure that you complete the migration process by December 30, 2024. After this deadline, components that you didn't migrate will be hidden from the Dashboard.
Note:
A deprecation notice will be displayed to inform users about the upcoming changes and guide them through the manual migration process.
You can include up to ten components in a single dashboard. If you reach this limit during migration and need to add more components, you will have to move the component to a different dashboard. This way, you can organize your components across multiple dashboards without exceeding the maximum limit for each one.
For further assistance or questions regarding this transition, please contact our support team at support@bigin.com. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve Bigin for you.
