Take spam control up a notch with reCAPTCHA checkbox and invisible reCAPTCHA

Take spam control up a notch with reCAPTCHA checkbox and invisible reCAPTCHA

Hello fellow form builders,

If you've been using our CAPTCHA service to prevent spam, heads up! You will not find it under Basic Settings anymore. We have stepped up our methods for reducing spam. These newer options have been grouped together as Spam Control. Take a look:

What's the new update?

We received numerous requests to support reCAPTCHA in Zoho Forms and further hinder spam submissions. And yes, we heard you. Our development team has been analyzing it ever since and, finally, the results are in. We are happy to announce that we now support Google's reCAPTCHA v2 (the "I'm not a robot" checkbox) and invisible reCAPTCHA v2 for our forms.

What is reCAPTCHA?

For a few of you who are not familiar with this, reCAPTCHA is a security method developed by Google that aims to keep spam at bay. It helps prevent malicious submissions by bots and spammers. In case of any suspicion that arises, reCAPTCHA challenge image will be introduced to the users. Without further ado, let's look at how it works for your form!

reCAPTCHA (the "I am not a robot" Checkbox)

This type of security in your forms does not require any task to enter numbers or letters that are difficult to read. Rather, it prompts users to check an "I am not a robot" box to verify themselves as human. As Google says, "Easy on humans, hard on bots." Find out how to verify this with easier steps

The invisible reCAPTCHA badge

The invisible reCAPTCHA badge is a newer version of the method listed above. The difference is that there will not be any checkboxes or additional fields appearing on the form. It is invisible, as the name implies. It runs as a reCAPTCHA badge displayed on the footer of the site where the form is embedded.

Is the CAPTCHA option still available? If you want to use our older CAPTCHA option, fear not! We will continue to support it, and it will be listed as "Zoho Forms CAPTCHA." With bots learning new ways around security measures, your forms need to be equipped with the best solution possible. Choose the best-fitting one for your business.

That's a wrap! Go ahead and try it for your forms, and let us know what you think in the comments below. We'd love to hear from you!

Thanks,
Prasana
