Unify All Zoho Video Meeting Experiences into One Standardized Platform

Unify All Zoho Video Meeting Experiences into One Standardized Platform

Hi Zoho Team,

We would like to share an important user experience concern regarding the current state of video meeting functionality across the Zoho ecosystem.

The Problem

Within Zoho, there are multiple ways to initiate or schedule a video meeting:

  • Zoho Meeting (the dedicated app)
  • Direct Call feature inside Zoho Cliq
  • Schedule Meeting feature inside Zoho Cliq
  • And possibly additional entry points in other apps

However, each of these methods launches a different meeting experience — with different UI, controls, and features.

Examples:

  1. A Direct Call in Cliq has one set of features (camera, screen share, etc.)
  2. A Scheduled Meeting in Cliq launches a completely different interface
  3. Zoho Meeting offers yet another layout and set of capabilities

This results in:

  1. Confusion: users don’t know which option they should use

  2. ❌ Users often begin a meeting using one method only to discover an essential feature — like a whiteboard, reactions/gestures, or the ability to see participant video while screen sharing — is only available when launching from a different method. This forces them to abandon the call and restart using another path.

  3. Inconsistency across UI, controls, notifications, calendar sync, etc.

  4. Difficult onboarding — no way to create a unified training approach

  5. Time zone and syncing issues due to multiple back-end behaviors

  6. Slower feature growth, as the same function must be built multiple times

✅ The Opportunity

We recommend consolidating video meetings into one unified platform — ideally Zoho Meeting — which all apps launch in a consistent way.

Wherever a user starts a meeting:

  1. Cliq (direct call or scheduled)
  2. Calendar
  3. Desk, CRM, WorkDrive, and more

➡️ The experience should always be:

  1. The same interface
  2. The same feature set
  3. The same performance level
  4. The same notification + calendar behaviors

✅ The Benefits

  1. Stronger, faster product improvement (one roadmap, not several)

  2. Predictable user experience across Zoho

  3. Reduced confusion and support needs

  4. Professional-grade communication tools aligned to modern standards

  5. Improved competitiveness with Zoom, Teams, Google Meet, etc.

Final Thought

Right now, Zoho’s resources are spread across multiple overlapping tools — resulting in several mediocre video meeting experiences instead of one excellent one.

By streamlining everything into a single powerful solution, Zoho will strengthen:

✅ Reliability
✅ User confidence
✅ Collaboration across the Zoho ecosystem

Thank you for taking this feedback seriously — we truly believe this shift would have a significant positive impact on all Zoho One users.

Kind regards,
Ram

    • No longer get Cliq notifications on phone if app not started

On Android, I used to get notifications on my phone whether I was in the app, or it was started. Then about a month ago, I stopped seeing notifications on my phone UNLESS I had already started the app. So if I reboot my phone, and never start the app,
