Assignment Thresholds Resetting After Lead Conversion

Assignment Thresholds Resetting After Lead Conversion

Hello everyone,

We're facing an issue with Zoho CRM's lead assignment thresholds that makes them unsuitable for our workflow. I'm hoping to find a potential workaround or solution from the community.

Here’s our current process:

  1. A new lead is created automatically from our social media integration.

  2. An assignment rule assigns the lead to a user via the round-robin method.

  3. The user processes the lead and, in all cases, converts it into a contact (or merges it with an existing contact).

Our Goal:

We want to limit each user to a maximum of 13 assigned leads per day. The count should include every lead assigned to the user that day, regardless of whether the lead is subsequently converted, deleted, or reassigned.

The Problem:

Zoho's standard assignment thresholds seem to count only the current number of leads a user owns within the Leads module. When a lead is converted, it's removed from the Leads module, and the user's "current count" for the threshold decreases by one.

This means a user could be assigned a lead, convert it, and their count would go back down, allowing them to receive another lead. This defeats our goal of a hard daily limit.

Example of the issue:

  1. A lead is assigned to User A. Their daily count becomes 1.

  2. User A converts the lead to a contact.

  3. Because the lead no longer exists, User A's daily count for the threshold check reverts to 0.

  4. User A is now eligible to receive new leads, even though they have already been assigned one for the day.

Has anyone found a way to create a daily assignment counter that is not affected by lead conversion? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
